Finger Paints

What You Will Need:

1/2 cup cornstarch
1 cup cold water
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
Small screw-top jars
Food coloring or poster paints

What To Do:

In a saucepan, mix cornstarch with 3/4 cup of cold water to a smooth paste.  Soak the gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water. Set aside until ready to use.  Pour boiling water slowly into cornstarch mixture, stirring as you pour.  Cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and clears. Remove from heat and stir in gelatin. Cool and divide into separate jars. Stir in food coloring or poster paint into each jar until well blended.

Finger Painting is great fun for young children. If you take the necessary precautions such as covering your table as well as your child there should be no damage to your house and an easy clean-up.
